Angel’s Forever Home

We had recently lost our Chocolate Laborador, Jack. When Jack left us, we had decided to adopt again and this time we wanted to adopt an older dog who would have a hard time finding a home. We’d been looking for about a week when we came upon Angel, aka, Arconia. We were sure she was the one to come home with us. We have two other pitties, Opie and Molly. The meet and greet went really well, and Angel came home with us! The first couple days, Angel adjusted and soon realized we were there to love her and

My New Love ❤

I was heartbroken after losing my 20 year old cat, so I decided to go to HSHV to see their kittens. I found this little guy and fell in love immediately. During the adoption I was informed that he was exposed to feline leukemia but had been cleared for adoption. I was a little hesitant at first in fear that I would lose him too. After 3 months he is thriving and settled right in at home. He is such a blessing and I can’t imagine not having him in my life. ❤ Riddle now Charlie

Best Friends Forever!!

I was on the waitlist for the Love Train, to adopt another dog as a companion for my 6-month-old female beabull (beagle/bulldog mix). I checked the HSHV web page daily to see adoptable puppies. I hit the jackpot with Remi, a Love Train puppy who was adopted but returned after 2 weeks because he “could not be potty trained!” I immediately went and visited Remi and adopted him that day! He was having trouble holding his urine even after he had just pottied outside. I knew this was not normal, and took him to the vet. It turns out he

Foster Fur Ever

I took Mayflower in as a foster with no intention of adopting, as I had not gotten over losing the last of my 3 previous babies. BUT she stole my heart with her sweet yet very sassy energy. For the 1st time since losing Boo I can at least not feel like I’m suffocating when I come home. I honestly believe my babies brought us together. Now yes I still cry because I miss them, but it hurts less because she lightens my heart. She is my new baby forever. Mayflower now Macy Grace Norris

Jazzy Spazzy

After walking into HSHV, I found my furever friend the moment I looked at Woolley. This sweet little baby stole my heart! I knew this sweet babe would be the best sister to our other little kitty Baylee! After bringing Woolley home she immediately took to Baylee, and they have been crazy partners in crime ever since. Jazzy loves to play with toys and learn mischief from her sissy. Jazzy also loves to bite and attack feet!!! I am so happy that I was able to adopt this babe and give her the life she’s always deserved. Baylee is on

Jasmine stole our hearts with those beautiful eyes!

After losing our dog the week before, we knew we wanted another dog right away. I had super sad and upset kids, and a getting a dog/puppy was the right thing to do. We made our way to HSHV as it was open, and we got into the puppy Love Train area. We walked by another big white dog, but decided on the little one. Now we have three! We call her Spazzy Jazzy as she’s very hyper and naughty! Capri now Jasmine

Mugzy with the Helicopter Tail

On June 16th 2013, Mugzy found his way to HSHV. Severely flea infested, his ears and eyes swollen shut. His HSHV medical records revealed that removing one or both of his eyes might be necessary. However, due to the dedicated and diligent care of HSHV veterinary staff and Mugzy’s cheerful disposition through it all, after entropian surgery on both eyes, Mugzy’s eyes improved immensely and he was released for adoption. My husband and I had been considering a companion for our eight year old Shar Pei, Luke. We were both working long hours and thought Luke may enjoy the company

Living His Best Life

I woke up one day when I was 20 years old after having a dream about my childhood dog who had just passed away. Later that day I went to HSHV just to look, and ended up bringing home Pip, my best friend. That was almost 7 years ago now (November, 2015). Pip was at HSHV for over 20 days, and had been adopted and returned before I got him. Their loss! Pip has been the best thing that ever happened in my life, and everyone who meets him absolutley loves him. He has brought so many smiles and so
