Pupdate on Bambi!

My boyfriend and I came into HSHV to look for a dog to adopt with no intention of falling in love with Bambi, but from the moment we saw her, we knew she was ours! She was a Love Train puppy who had been adopted and returned. Her name is Frankie now (a.k.a., Li’l chicken nugget, li’l boo, Frankie Pankie Poo), and she has the biggest personality as you can see from the picture. She’s so relaxed and funny; we really couldn’t imagine our lives without her!   Bambi now Frankie

Princess gets spoiled!

My very first pet ever when living on my own was Princess. I went in with this dead set mind of “black, elderly, Male cat.” Because I thought I knew what I wanted. Then this sassy chick walked up and demanded to be taken home, and I understood suddenly that it didn’t matter what I wanted, this one chose me to take her home. And that was nearly 3 years ago! She has been my rock in all of the downs and scary moments in my life. I love her to pieces; she is my true savior, honestly. She now

Eggbert-Albert Smoky “Kitz” has the Purrfect Home with Stephen!

Eggbert-Albert came into HSHV on 12/13/18, sick and wounded. He had a long recovery and was tube fed as he would not eat. On 1/12/19 we met Eggbert-Albert, and fell in love with him. He even started eating when we were there, and on 1/13/19 he went to his Purrfect home! He is lovable, full of personality with a mystical face, loves the car, and asks for treats. Thank you for rescuing Eggbert-Albert AKA KITZ and giving him a chance to be loved.   Eggbert-Albert now Smoky “Kitz”

Molly and me

Just wanted to send you an update. This dog is a love. In the daytime, she sleeps beside me on the couch; at night, she curls up next to me in bed. She is totally housebroken, wags her tail all the time, and appears to be very happy here. My granddaughters got to meet her recently. She was perfect. Thank you again for helping me to adopt Molly. She had a bath yesterday and smells like lavender. I absolutely love her!

Rey has a loving home

We adopted Rey on 4/8/2016. She was brought in on the PetSmart Rescue Waggin’ (now HSHV’s Love Train) and was placed for adoption on 1/6/2016. We are so very lucky to have her in our lives. She is the best with my sons ( 9 yrs & 3 yrs). She is honestly the best dog. She is super loving, cuddly and super smart. She has shown to be a huntress and has shown squirrels, rabbits and ground hogs that her yard in not a place for them to be. She is super sassy and has no problem telling you her

She Picked US!

In 2010, my daughter wanted a cat to come home to while living away at school. We came to HSHV to check out all the cats/kittens. We had no one in mind. Pandora was the cat who came to the front of her cage, put her paws out for attention and purred her heart out! We brought her home; she spent 2 years with my daughter in her apartment and then several years living with us. She was a cuddler and always wanted to be where we were. Sadly, she passed this January, but the love she gave us while

Found their forever home AND forever Best friend

My fiancé adopted Otis (our older dog) a couple years ago. Otis is the sweetest, cuddliest, laziest pit ever! After having such a great experience adopting Otis, we decided to adopt another, Dolly. Dolly brought out the pup in Otis. If they are apart, even for minute, they cry. I’m so happy they took so well to each other and have truly brought out the best in one another. They are best friends and inseparable.   Cora Junior and Doodles now Dolly and Otis

Young Mother of Seven Kittens finds new home

I lived with cats my whole life, and after moving to my own place and settling in, I knew I was missing something. I had visited HSHV several times before, but now I was ready to adopt! Then I saw her in October 2017. A beautiful three-year-old Lynx Point Siamese mix who had been surrendered and was recovering from a very difficult birth of seven kittens. Betty White was her given name but I call her Nina. Nina is the queen of the house. She is so affectionate but still a little sassy just when you think you know her.
