Thirteen, three-legged and thriving!
Millie was adopted on January 11, 2010 from HSHV. My husband and I walked past her kennel and noticed that she only had three legs, and instantly fell in love. She was full of wiggles and kisses. We didn’t know what to expect adopting a three legged dog, and thought there would be some limitations to what she could do. From the moment we brought her home and she ran up a flight up stairs and jumped straight into bed for cuddles – she surprised us! She ran faster and jumped higher than her four-legged brother ever could. She will

A Grateful Pet!
When this beautiful budgie became available, I went to HSHV immediately. Amigo hung upside down from the top of the travel cage and chirped all the way home. He got excited about everything I gave him or did for him. He was one grateful bird. He was the most friendly and happy pet. Although he has crossed the rainbow bridge after a few years with me, I will never forget him. He was my Amigo (friend). Dre now Amigo

Our Little Worm
Earthworm came into our lives shortly after the passing of our beloved cat of 16 years, Spooky. As soon as we saw him in his little crown, we knew he was meant for our family. We loved his name, so we never even considered changing it! Although he does have many nicknames including Worm, Wormy, and, as our niece calls him, Gummy Worm. We are so happy to have him in our lives and plan to adopt from HSHV again in the future! <3

New Love Train best buddy for older Love Train baby
This past December my husband and I decided that we had too much stability and order in our lives with our last sweetie Lainey (previously Jade). Our lives were quiet, but we could tell that even with all her walks and play with mom and dad and dog park that our Lainey girl was missing something from her life. Since we had gotten Lainey from HSHV, we thought we would try there again. After a failed attempt (the first puppy was not a good fit with Lainey at an intro) we eventually found Cole, previously Simon, and he and Lainey

Warming up to their new life
Obi (Oatmeal) & Isaac (Steve) came home with Dave and I last July. They were very timid and hid together behind our toilet, except to play and wrestle with each other. It was a slow start, but with a lot of love the boys have warmed up to us. So far, Isaac is the affectionate, in-your-face, loving type and Obi is more the rough-and-tumble adventurous type. Together they bring us an enormous amount of entertainment and joy. We have absolutely loved watching them come out of their shells, and can’t wait to see how they mature into adult cats. Thank

The purrfect match
Star, now Nebula, is the perfect addition to our family. My youngest daughter adores cats & has been wanting one for the past year. When she first met Nebula (Star) she said, “this is the one Mom.” Nebula is so sweet and loves to cuddle. She is not afraid of her very large fur-brother, an 11-month-old yellow lab named Lupin. And though she gets herself into a bit of mischief sometimes, she is very playful and fun. 🙂 When she gets really excited we call her “nutsy Neb.” She has brought a lot of joy to our family in just

Kylo’s Adventure
When we walked in we saw Kylo reaching through the crate. We learned that he had been returned the day before and we knew we wanted to adopt him! Since we got him, Kylo was less than 2 pounds and really small. Now at 8 months old, he’s now bigger than our full-grown cat! He loves the outside, and water strangely enough. He loves running in the snow and bothering his sister! Oh and car rides as well, loves those. He’s our adventure cat! Colin-Bridgerton now Kylo
