We met Pete (a.k.a., Woodstock) on our second visit in January 2020 at HSHV. He is such a handsome boy, and we love his character even more. He needed only couple days to adjust with us. Now he loves to explore the house, cuddle with everybody (including our guests), bring the girls to bed, wake us up very early in the morning, sit in the window and watch squirrels. In 2015, I had been dreaming of adopting a kitten to add to our family. On Thanksgiving day, I was browsing  the HSHV website and found a picture of 2 sweet sister kitties. In 2014, I had to say goodbye to one of my childhood dogs. I still had his brother, who by then was half blind, deaf, but had never been alone. He desperately needed a buddy. We adopted Nadine nearly two years ago from HSHV. She was a scared pup when we met her and her personality was almost non-existent. It took about a month to get into a good feeding routine with her, and then another two months before she started to play with us at all. We officially brought Yondu (the dog FKA Wrangler) on June 19, but we loved him before then! Yondu came home for a pajama party a few days earlier, and it only took hours before we knew he would be staying. He’s definitely one of the family! We adopted Eugene (9) from Tiny Lions in the Spring of 2018. After our roommate and his cat moved out a few months later, our chunky socialite Eugene was very vocal about wanting a companion pet.
